  • Continue to try out javascript code on your javascript.html page.

  • Copy the list of questions below and answer them this period.
  • Print your response on one piece of paper, check the print preview button in the file menu, you may need to print multiple pages per sheet, check the advanced properties in the print box.

  1. What javascript techniques do you recognize from your own web use?

Start a page called Javascript.html in the directory above your Group Site Project. This will be your experimental place to try out the scripts without having to worry about screwing up your other pages.

Take this quiz before starting, add the results to your javascript.html page :

First you should do the Mouse over tutorial at this link: http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jmouse.htm

The text on the tutorial will help you understand a bit about how javascript works. Print out the code of your javascript.html page each day you work on it and hand it in. Make sure your name is commented into the code.

Improve your Group Site project

Once you have gotten a handle on how the code works and how to format it properly, you will want to add some javascript to your Group Site Project. Be careful not to go too fast with it, or you could end up screwing up your site with some sloppy code.

At first, add the script to just one page, such as your index.

Then add an external javascript page and call to those commands from the individual pages.

Some possiblities:

- Pop up windows for pictures or video

- pulldown menus for navigation

- make an online quiz

Here is a decent tutorial to help you get started:
