Angelfire is a free site operated by Lycos.

You can make web pages in HTML and host them on the site.

Here is a bit of how to do it:

Make an account.

Your account name should be: firstNameLastinitialCourseSemester such as: LeahSWebF09

You can only have one account per email address, so plan accordingly or delete if you need to.

Start Building in the Web Shell

After you make the account and activate it by following the email link you'll get to the Start Building Page.

Choose Build a web site with Angelfire Webshell

When you click ok, you'll get to the Webshell, it will look like this.

There are a series of buttons above and below a scrolling window.

Inside the window are all the files and directories in your account.

Check out the existing index.html

You already have a file named index.html

Select it and choose view

You will see a dummy page that is mostly just a place holder with a bit of info in it already.

You can do a number of things to this page, including edit, and rename.

Upload your index.html

You can also replace this page

Below the annoyingly small window with all your documents listed is a section for File Upload.

click the Browse button and find your index.html

Click the Overwrite box before hitting the Upload button

Your index will now be the site's index.

When you click on the links on your index, the links don't work, because they aren't there yet .

Upload a few of your pages

Use the technique above to upload a bunch of your pages.

Before you upload all of them, test the links

Open your site in a new tab.

Test out the links in the new tab and use the Webshell in the first tab.

Test the links and make sure they work.

Fix anything that is broken in your html and upload the page
